Growth in Galveston county is on the rise. There are new homes, businesses, schools and roads being built all over the place. You can hardly drive down the street without seeing something under construction. I grew up in this area and I still call it home. I was born in Galveston, but I grew up in Santa Fe, La Marque, Dickinson, League City and kind of, all over Galveston county. Now I am in Dickinson so I’m basically 30 minutes from the big city of Houston and 30 minutes from the beach in Galveston. It has become so fast paced. It is a great place to live, whether I want a night on the town and dinner in the city of I want to go water skiing in Clear Lake or surfing in Galveston. The parks are awesome, the people are friendly, the shops are abundant, and the restaurants are so good, especially if you’re into comfort food. A few of my favorite local spots include Bay Brook Mall, Tanger Outlet, Texas Pit Stop, WIllie G's Seafood, Gio's Flying Pizza and Marais. Whether you are looking for a weekend getaway or a new place to call home, look no further. Galveston county is a cozy, heart warming blend of, far enough away from the city but close enough to do life conveniently. In fact, more and more people are coming here, some to retire, some for new work opportunities and others to raise families, so it’s a great mix and super diversified.
